THOUGHTFUL PLANNING   ·   YOUR PRIVATE SPACE   ·   AT YOUR OWN PACE

A hotel room or apartment is a different setting from a spa. Agree on the setup before an appointment so you know what is provided and what space is needed.

Ask what equipment will be used

Do not assume a portable table is included. Confirm the intended setup, linens, towels and products, and ask about the floor space required. If your room is compact, mention that before confirming.

Clear a comfortable area

Move luggage and loose items out of the agreed space. Keep a clear route from the entrance. Put valuables away and leave any hotel fixtures where they belong; ask the property if furniture needs to be moved.

Discuss your preferences

Explain the pressure you prefer and any areas you would like to avoid. If you prefer unscented products, ask whether they are available. Confirm whether the session is clothed or oil-based and how privacy and draping will be handled.

Plan access and timing

Check the hotel visitor rules and agree on where to meet. Keep a way to contact the provider if arrival arrangements change. Build a little time into your itinerary for setup and packing away.

During the session

You can ask questions, request a pressure change or ask to pause. Tell the therapist promptly if you feel uncomfortable. Your preferences should guide the pace of the appointment.

A final checklist

  • Equipment and linens confirmed.
  • Room space and access agreed.
  • Products and pressure preferences discussed.
  • Duration and total price confirmed.
  • Cancellation terms understood.
